QLD: Warm-up acts can make or break the Big Day Out

GOLD COAST, Jan 16 AAP - It is the moment that can make or break the Big Day Out festival.

If the crowd starts chanting for the headline act while other bands are playing, then
organiser Ken West knows the show is in trouble.

"At the first Big Day Out date every year, I always listen to hear for the chant," said Mr West.

"If people don't and they are genuinely enjoying all the acts and not just waiting
for the headline, then we know that the festival will be a hit."
